Strum is coordinating an Environmental Assessment on a tidal power site in the Bay of Fundy.  This State of the Art project involves a tethered keel which generates power when acted upon by tidal forces.  This EA will focus on the potential environmental considerations involved, considering its impact on fauna and flora as well as marine organisms and the local ecosystem.  Completion of the Environmental Assessment and final systems design are anticipated by 2017 with power generation anticipated by 2018.  This exciting project is expected to be low impact throughout its life cycle and with no moving parts should be benign to marine species ion the Bay.
