SAR – Environmental Field Technician

The Opportunity

Strum is currently looking to expand our Site Assessment & Remediation team and has an opening in our Antigonish office for an Environmental Field Technician to join our team.

Who You Are

Required Qualifications

  • Must be enrolled in or recently completed a post-secondary education program related to science, engineering or environmental studies.
  • Must be physically capable of performing field work duties.
  • Must have a strong background in sciences.
  • Must possess the ability to work independently and as a part of a team.
  • Must possess a positive attitude and strong interpersonal skills.
  • Possess professional demeanour and communicate with excellent verbal and written skills in English.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Must be enrolled in or recently completed a post-secondary education program related to science, engineering or environmental studies.
  • Must possess a Nova Scotia Driver’s License.
  • Must be legally eligible to work in Canada

What You’ll Do

  • Adhering to Strum’s health and safety program and ensuring safety procedures and protocols are followed.
  • Collection of accurate data in the field using various types of equipment.
  • Collection of various types of field samples (e.g., soil, water, air, asbestos, lead paint, etc.)
  • Compilation of clear, concise, and accurate field notes.
  • Support existing field and reporting teams while demonstrating ability to work independently and as part of a larger close-knit team
