This Project involves the consolidation of two adjacent quarry operations and an overall expansion to a total proposed quarry size of 54 acres. The proposed Project is considered to be a Class 1 Undertaking, therefore requiring the submission of an Environmental Assessment Registration Document. Strum will complete a desktop review of baseline information, including rare plants and wildlife (field surveys of vegetation, wetlands, and wildlife habitats), a wildlife inventory and breeding bird survey, drainage assessment, and hydrogeological evaluation. The resulting report will evaluate these valued environmental components, as well as socio-economic aspects, and will provide an analysis and assessment in accordance with the Guide to Preparing an Environmental Assessment Registration Document for Pit and Quarry Developments in Nova Scotia.
