Our Operational Approvals and Technical Services team supports clients through each stage of project development, from early baseline studies and regulatory guidance to approvals, construction, operation, compliance, and closure. With our team of environmental scientists, engineers, geoscientists, hydrogeologists, hydrologists, and qualified wetland and restoration professionals, we bring the technical depth and practical regulatory understanding needed to define project requirements, reduce uncertainty, and keep your project on track.
Our service lines include permitting (wetlands, watercourses, industrial approvals), environmental monitoring and compliance, water resource assessments, and offsetting and compensation. Our expertise includes: WESP-AC functional assessments, species at risk surveys, wetland delineation, watercourse installer support, and directive response; industrial approval amendment, renewal and closure applications; on site environmental monitoring, compliance and auditing support including development of erosion and sediment controls, water management, wildlife mitigation and contingency planning; surface and groundwater assessment and management services, including aquifer testing, groundwater/surface water investigations, dewatering assessments, water withdrawal evaluations, well rehabilitation, and stream gauging. Where required, our team can also support offsetting and compensation needs, including wetland and watercourse habitat restoration, river restoration, and long-term habitat assessment and monitoring programs.
We help clients understand site characteristics, navigate provincial and federal requirements, meet approval conditions, and develop practical mitigation or restoration measures where needed. Service Lines
Watercourse & Wetland Permitting. Our team of qualified wetland professionals and watercourse installers has supported permitting projects for over 20 years. We provide services including wetland determination forms, functional assessments (WESP-AC), species at risk surveys, watercourse determinations, long-term monitoring, and on-site installer support. We will guide you through the permitting process and help you advance your project.
Habitat Compensation & Offsetting. Offsetting is the process of ensuring development impacts are mitigated and appropriately compensated for elsewhere, commonly through habitat restoration. Strum provides habitat offsetting services to meet both provincial and federal requirements with in-house habitat restoration professionals and a network of subject-matter experts to support our clients’ offsetting initiatives.
Water Resources. Using advanced field instrumentation, modelling, and remote sensing technologies, we deliver accurate, defensible data and practical recommendations to support your water resource needs. Our expertise includes aquifer testing, groundwater investigations, well rehabilitation, surface and groundwater modelling, stream gauging, ecological maintenance flow studies, bathymetric surveys, and coastal monitoring.
