Remedial Planning and Site Supervision

Strum has extensive expertise in responding to and coordinating the remediation of fuel oil releases. Each year our rapid response team assesses multiple sites across Atlantic Canada to determine the extent of the impacts, identify sensitive receptors, and develop remedial action plans to mitigate and remediate the spills.  Site activities involve relocating the on-site structure, excavation of contaminated soils, removal of contaminated water, and delineation via boreholes. Monitoring wells are installed to assess contaminant migration in groundwater and monitor groundwater conditions.  Strum closely supervises and provides direction to the remediation contractor.  Following remediation and monitoring, regulatory closure is attained.
