Strum Consulting is a leading-edge civil engineering, environmental, survey and mechanical/electrical consulting firm with our head office based in Bedford, Nova Scotia. Currently, Strum is looking for an energetic Senior/Intermediate Civil Engineer with 7-20 years experience to join our Bedford team. The position requires a highly motivated individual with both technical and communication skills, a positive attitude, and strong organizational and communication skills.

Key Responsibilities

  •  Assist in design and the preparation of engineering drawings, plans, reports, sketches & diagrams for the following types of projects:
    • residential subdivision with lands use/property issues
    • civil engineering design (water, wastewater and stormwater modelling)
    • commercial and/or institutional developments
    • any construction-related projects
    • windfarms
    • roadways, highways and street design/investigation
    • water mains, sanitary and storm sewer piping
  • Assist in the development of engineering specifications and contract documents

Qualifications

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited university
  • Professional Engineer, licensed or eligible for membership with Engineers Nova Scotia
  • Applicable experience is an asset
  • Consulting background an asset
  • Excellent communicator and team player
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Strong academic record is an asset
