Phased Site Assessment
A Phase III ESA was conducted to assess for metals, hydrocarbons, and polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAH) at a commercial site in Dartmouth, NS. The facility was built in the late 1960’s and served as a large-scale trucking operations and repair facility. Wells were installed, static measurements collected, groundwater modelled, and a detailed Phase III ESA was completed. Extensive free product was revealed along with arsenic impacts. Detailed drilling and sampling of surface soils and bedrock was carried out to assess on-site and off-site migration of impacts, evaluate remedial options, and determine costs for site closure requirements. Strum completes over 50 similar assessments yearly.
